MLB DFS PICKS FOR DRAFTKINGS 8/10/2020

I'm back after a few days off from writing these picks but we had a great weekend and looking to make it three W's in a row. The last article I wrote went CRAZY as 7 of the 22 hitters that I mentioned ended up going deep! Tonight we have a nine game slate with minor weather issues that we will keep an eye on. Overall, the slate looks solid and I'm ready to make this a good night.

Weather concerns

DET: Looked rough earlier today but it now looks like the should play.

NYM: Rain in the area but nothing too concerning as of now.

Pitchers

Patrick Corbin $10.4k

Corbin comes in as the most expensive pitcher on the slate and he'll be hard to get to if you're trying to get to some of these bats. If you can get to him however, it could certainly pay off with his upside. The Mets are a solid offense so it isn't the best matchup but he's very capable of shutting them down. You're mostly getting him for the fact that he's usually pretty safe and you can often count on him for over 20 points with upside over 30.

Kyle Gibson $8.6k

He gets a friendly matchup in a friendly ballpark. Gibson has looked good so far this year with a 2.46 ERA after two starts. He did give up quite a few base runners in those starts but his ability to rack up strikeouts is what we're aiming for here. Tonight we want Kyle to limit the walks and that shouldn't be too hard against this Mariners team that strikes out at one of the highest marks in the league. Gibson has been able to throw 93 and 103 pitches in his two starts which is a great sign. If he's able to limit the walks then he should be able to smash this price tag.

Dustin May $7.7k

He just had a start against the Padres and looked great. He gets them again here at home and I'm all over this play. The Padres are starting to really hit but I'm confident that May is good enough to silence them tonight. He still hasn't gone more than six innings but I'm hoping that Dave Roberts will let the future star keep going if he gets on a roll here. My favorite pitcher on the slate and would likely be in my Fanduel lineup.

Randy Dobnak $7.5k

I don't love the price tag but I can see why people will be going this route. The Brewers have been really bad at the plate this season and Dobnak has been really good. My issue is that he does not strikeout a lot of hitters and it looks like these Brewers bats are finally starting to wake up. Not my favorite play but if he can keep going strong then you might get 7+ innings from him. Labeling this one as RISKY.

Hitters

COL: Hampson, Story Blackmon, Arenado, Kemp - Will be expensive to get more than 2 of them but I'd say you need at least some exposure.

ARI: Calhoun, K Marte, Peralta - Other side of Coors is good too but won't be paying for the ones who are overpriced.

MIN: Kepler, Polanco, Cruz, Rosario - This is a gpp stack that could really pay off. I don't see much exposure for them and Miller Park produces a lot of runs.

WAS: I love all of these bats. Mostly the top of the order with Harrison and Castro.

CWS: Moncada, Mazara, Grandal - Keep an eye on weather. These are a few good one-offs.

OAK: Olson, Semien, Canha - Another stack that I like a lot. Julio Teheran can get knocked around.
