NBA DFS Picks For DraftKings 2/16/21

It is safe to say that my first article for @sportsversehq was a success! My lineup on Draftkings cashed with a score of 350 Draftkings points. My core 3 combined for 133.25, highlighted by my top play of the slate, John Wall. Wall erupted for 56.50 Draftkings points and hit 7x value. With the Embiid news coming at a reasonable time, I was able to late swap Tobias Harris into some of my lineups which paid off extremely well. Harris scored 58.50 Draftkings points and hit 8x value. I even entered the same core on Fanduel which resulted in one of my lineups scoring 380 Fanduel points. Yesterday was a very successful day and I am ready to cash again in tonight’s 6 game slate.

Top Play:

Giannis Antetokounmpo: $11,000:

Giannis is really starting to recapture his MVP form recently. In fact, he’s got at least 62 DraftKings points in eight of his last 11 games, averaging 71 fantasy points per game across his last three outings. Giannis has played at least 36 minutes in three consecutive games and with Jrue Holiday still out, he will continue to see minutes in the high 30’s. He's in another good spot in what should be a competitive and up-tempo matchup against Toronto. I will try to find a way to have him in all of my lineups.

Best Value:

DeAndre Jordan: $4,500

This slate is loaded with STUDS at each position, so it is important to take advantage of value even if the player isn’t the flashiest. For most of my lineups, I will target a Stars/Scrubs approach and Deandre Jordan is perfect for that. Jordan has played at least 27 minutes in three of the past four games while scoring at least 24 DK points in each of them. The Nets will be without KD again and Jordan will presumably see plenty of run dealing with Deandre Ayton.

Picks by Position:

PG:

1) Ja Morant: $7,500

Notes: Too explosive of a player to be this cheap, and the matchup tonight is great

2) Jamal Murray: $7,200

3) James Harden: $10,800

Notes: There are other studs in the 10k-11k range I would choose over Harden, but without

Kyrie and KD tonight, it is hard to ignore him.

SG:

1) Khris Middleton: $8,000

2) Dillon Brooks: $5,500

3) Grayson Allen: $4,700

Other Guard Plays (PG/SG): Hamidou Diallo ($6,700), Chris Paul ($7,800), RJ Hampton ($3,400 Dart Throw only in big GPP’s) , Justin Jackson ($4,700), Bruce Brown ($4,600), Lou Dort ($5,400)

SF:

1) Jayson Tatum: $8,700

Notes: Yes, you read that right. 8.7k for Tatum. Who can guard Tatum on Denver? MPJ?

JaMychal Green? Lock Tatum in all your lineups!

2) Lebron James: $10,100

Notes: Yes, there is blowout risk, but LBJ has been in full takeover mode with AD out.

3) Anthony Edwards: $6,000

PF:

1) Zion Williamson: $8,200

2) Pascal Siakim: $8,100

Notes: If you don’t want to run Giannis and Middleton together, Siakim is the perfect pivot off

of Giannis

3) JaMychal Green: $4,300

Notes: Not the flashiest option, but Denver has too many injuries to not give him a look.

Other Forward Plays (SF/PF): Carmelo Anthony ($5,400), Kyle Anderson ($6,400), Kenrich Williams ($5,300),Markieff Morris ($3,400), Brandon Ingram ($8,400 prefer Zion but B.I is a good contrarian play)

C:

1) Nikola Jokic: $10,700

Notes: Does he need an explanation? Jokic has been leading the NBA with 60 fantasy pts per

game. He is the easiest and safest pay up option on the slate.

2) Deandre Jordan: $4,500

3) Al Horford: $7,000

Other Center Plays: Deandre Ayton ($7,100), Montrezl Harrell ($6,200), Karl Anthony-Towns ($9,300), Tristan Thompson ($3,900 good play with Theis, will play big minutes to guard Jokic), Enes Kanter ($7,000)

Core/Lineup:

My core 3 are Giannis Antetokounmpo: $11,000, Jayson Tatum: $8,700 and Ja Morant $7,500

This slate is loaded with STUDS so I will take advantage of the value at other positions. The Nets, Grizzlies and Nuggets are the best teams to target for value.
