After a short break for the holidays, I am back for tonight’s 8 game NBA main slate. Lots of injuries tonight especially with the New Orleans Pelicans and Toronto Raptors which will open up a lot of value.
Reminder: If you have any lineup questions prior to lock, I will be happy to answer any of them if you comment and tag in under the article or DM me @rogersaj07. Also, if you retweet the article and DM me I will send you my player core that I will be locking into all of my lineups.
Top Play:
Trae Young: $9,100
Trae Young played some ugly basketball over Easter weekend, which resulted in a price drop to start the new week. I will be taking advantage of that price drop for tonight’s slate. Young had at least 47 DraftKings points in five of his previous six games. Young is matched up against a banged up Pelicans team. They are putrid defensively and Young should take advantage of that in a pace-up spot. Young thrives in fast-paced games and this matchup is playing to his strong suits. Trae Young is my #1 PG play.
Best Value(s):
Malachi Flynn: $3,900
This is as close to a lock as you're gonna get tonight. Malachi Flynn is priced absurdly low tonight. The Toronto Raptors are most likely going to be down their own starting backcourt, in Kyle Lowry and Fred VanVleet. These injuries will amount to a significant increase in playing time. Flynn started last night for the Raptors and took advantage of the opportunity. Flynn turned 33 minutes into 43 DK points. respectively. Not only has he been scoring, but he added a combined seven blocks and steals on Monday. It’s not out of the realm of possibilities to see him putting up another big performance against the shorthanded Lakers.
Picks by Position:
PG:
1) Trae Young: $9,100
2) Malachi Flynn: $3,900 (See above)
3) Lonzo Ball: $7,500 (No NAW and Hart tonight, Ball will handle the playmaking duties and wil see big minutes)
SG:
1) Paul George: $8,100 (Way too cheap for a player this talented)
2) Zach Lavine: $7,800 (Lock Lavine in on this slate, plain and simple)
3) Caris Levert: $7,200
Other Guard Plays (PG/SG): Ben Simmons: $8,500 (ownership play), TJ McConnell: $5,300 (Brogdon is doubtful), Marcus Smart: $5,600, Dillon Brooks: $5,200
SF:
1) Jimmy Butler: $9,000
2) Bogdan Bogdanovic: $6,200
3) Gary Trent: $6,200
PF:
1) Giannis Antetokounmpo: $10,700 (Blowout risk against GSW)
2) Pascal Siakam: $8,200
3) James Johnson: $5,200
Other Forward Plays (SF/PF): Siddiq Bey: $4,300, Robert Covington: $5,800, Aaron Gordon: $6,300, Jerami Grant: $6,900,Patrick Williams: $4,400, Doug McDermott: $4,100,
C:
1) Nikola Jokic: $10,500
2) Joel Embiid: $10,200
3) Myles Turner: $6,200 (Better if Sabonis can’t go tonight)
Other Center Plays: Nikola Vucevic: $8,700, Robert Williams: $6,800, Enes Kanter: $6,000, Jaxson Hayes: $4,100, Chris Boucher: $5,800, Brook Lopez: $5,200
Core/Lineup:
My core 3 for tonight is Trae Young: $9,100, Paul George: $8,100 and Bogdan Bogdanovic: $6,200. There are so many strong center plays tonight. I won’t know who I am rolling with until the last minute. I may run with 2 centers tonight. SG is also very strong tonight. I may pair PG-13 with Levert or Lavine. PF is the position to pay down for. I listed a lot of value plays in my player pool. Best of luck tonight!
Reminder: If you have any lineup questions prior to lock, I will be happy to answer any of them if you comment and tag in under the article or DM me @rogersaj07. Also, if you retweet the article and DM me I will send you my player core that I will be locking into all of my lineups.
