After a week long absence from DFS due to the NBA All-Star break, we are back with some action! The main slate on tonight's beautiful Thursday features nine total games, so there are plenty of intriguing options at each positional group. As on most slates, we have prevalent news that we are waiting on which could shake up the slate when released. Be sure to keep on eye on these situations as we approach roster lock. Let's dive in to the breakdown of the NBA main slate on FanDuel tonight!

Top Play:
Damian Lillard (PG) - $10500) -

*UPDATE* - Dame has been ruled out. Pivot to SGA as top play.
Fresh off of a win in this year's 3-point contest, Damian Lillard is my top play on the slate. When approaching NBA DFS, recent performance, pace of the game, and positional matchups are some of the most pivotal factors, and Dame ticks all three of those boxes tonight. With a total set at 241.5., the Kings-Blazers matchup should be a scoring fest, and the Kings are in the bottom third of the league in allowing fantasy points to opposing point guards. Not only are the circumstances aligning for a big Damian Lillard game tonight, but he was on an absolute scorcher prior to the break. He has managed to score 50+ FD points in his last four games, and has reached that same mark in 14 of his last 18, a remarkable feat. With Anfernee Simons now sidelined for the Blazers, we may see even more usage for the 7x All-Star.
Best Value:
Harrison Barnes (SF/PF) - $4600 -
*UPDATE* - Now plenty of value on POR with Lillard and Grant out.
Anytime you have a player who regularly sees 35+ minutes at a sub $5000 cost, they are going to be a strong value option no matter the circumstance. It so happens that tonight, that situation happens to occur in the game with the highest implied total on the slate. That player is Harrison Barnes of the Kings, who boasts an unusually low salary of $4600. Nonetheless, that salary isn't a complete surprise as Barnes has failed to register 20+ FD points in six consecutive games, but it is hard to imagine that trend continuing much longer with the ample minutes he sees. Although his upside is capped, I expect Harrison Barnes to score around or exceed his 24 FD point season average, which would be substantial value at his price.
