MLB DFS Picks for Fanduel 4/13/21

Last night, we cashed solely due to our pitching. Gerrit Cole scored 49 FD pts in a great outing against the Jays. I had the Phillies as one of my stacks but the game was postponed late so I was unable to update my article. I stacked the Yankees and A’s last night. I paid up for the Yankees stars like LeMahieu, Torres and Judge which did not end well. The A’s value bats combined with Cole propelled my lineup to cash. Matt Chapman at only $3,100 was a great player, who scored 31.4 FD pts. The leadoff man, Mark Canha scored 21.4 FD pts. The top play for me was Jed Lowrie who was only $2,400 batting 3rd in a red-hot A’s lineup. Lowrie scored 28.9 FD pts. Tonight is a big 11 game slate that is loaded with star pitchers. Majority of the pool will fill their SP spot with Bauer and Bieber priced over $11,000, but I have two SP’s that will go under owned in great matchups.

Reminder: If you have any lineup questions prior to lock, I will be happy to answer any of them if you comment and tag in under the article or DM me @rogersaj07. Also, if you retweet the article and DM me I will send you my player core that I will be locking into all of my lineups.

SP:

Top SP:

Lucas Giolito: $9,800

Giolito has been striking out batters at a roaring pace, owning a 42.9% strikeout rate and 19.1% swinging-strike rate early on into the 2021 season. The White Sox ace will be opposite Bieber tonight, and he's actually the one with the less imposing draw, facing a Cleveland team with a 90 wRC+ against right-handers from 2019-21.

Value SP:

Brandon Woodruff: $8,800

Lucas Giolito is one clear option, but if you're looking for someone in that sub-$9,000 range, Brandon Woodruff stands out. Woodruff has submitted a 2.45 ERA, 31.0% strikeout rate, and 4.8% walk rate over his first two starts. His opponent, the Chicago Cubs, own a 25.6% strikeout rate versus righties in 2020.

Top Stacks:

Los Angeles Dodgers:

Along with the Padres, Braves and Yankees, the Dodgers have one of the best lineups in baseball. The Dodgers are matched up against Antonio Senzatela, who's posted a strikeout rate below 14% in back-to-back seasons. Senzatela has shown even poorer splits against left-handed hitters. Corey Seager: $3,900 and Max Muncy: $3,200 (1B/2B) are my two favorite hitters to target. Justin Turner: $3,500 is hitting third and is a fine option for a 2-3-4 Dodgers stack. Gavin Lux: $2,600 is a great lefty bat at the bottom of the order.

Houston Astros:

Houston carries a slate-high 5.06 implied total, going against Tiger lefty Matthew Boyd. The Astros have a bunch of righties who do damage against lefties, with Alex Bregman:$3,900 and Jose Altuve: $4,000 leading the way as the two most expensive Astros’ position players. Yuli Gurriel: $2,900, has a very friendly salary. Boyd has long struggled with the long ball, and he permitted 2.74 home runs per nine innings.

New York Yankees:

I’m going back to the Yankees tonight. The Yankees are going up against another Jays lefty, Hyun-Jin Ryu. The Yankees I am targeting in a stack are: DJ LeMahieu: $3,400 (2B/3B), Gary Sanchez: $3,000 and Aaron Judge: $4,000. I will not be playing Giancarlo Stanton: $3,600 in any of my lineups. Too expensive for a player that volatile. Clint Frazier: $2,400 is an interesting play at the bottom 3rd of the lineup.

One-Off Value Plays By Position:

1B:

  • Travis Shaw: $2,900 (3B/1B)

  • Shaw is 1st on the team in RBI’s and low-cost high-power option tonight

2B:

  • Brandon Lowe: $2,700 (2B/OF)

  • Going against Kyle Gibson who has shown a lower strikeout rate and ground-ball rate over his career against lefties.

3B:

  • Jonathan India: $3,100 (3B/2B)

  • He is hitting .355 so far in his rookie campaign. He needs to be on everyone’s radar.

SS:

  • David Fletcher; $2,600 (2B/SS)

  • Leadoff batter against Royal lefty Danny Duffy. If he gets on base their will be plenty of opportunities to score some runs hitting ahead of Trout and Upton.

OF:

  • Austin Meadows: $3,200

  • Jesse Winker: $2,800

  • Justin Upton: $2,700

Core/Lineup:

I really like Lucas Giolito: $9,800 tonight. Max Muncy: $3,200 (2B 1B) & Corey Seager: $3,900 are my favorite Dodgers players to stack tonight. Alex Bregman: $3,900 is my favorite Astros bat tonight and Yuli Gurriel: $2,900 is absurdly cheap tonight in a great matchup. My favorite one-off player is Austin Meadows: $3,200 (OF) of the Tampa Bay Rays.

Reminder: If you have any lineup questions prior to lock, I will be happy to answer any of them if you comment and tag in under the article or DM me @rogersaj07. Also, if you retweet the article and DM me I will send you my player core that I will be locking into all of my lineups.
