I took a break from DFS for the weekend. It is a new week and I am ready to start it off in the win column. Tonight was supposed to be a 7-game slate but due to COVID concerns, the Twins vs Athletics game has been postponed. It is nowa 6-game slate starting at 7:05 EST.
Reminder: If you have any lineup questions prior to lock, I will be happy to answer any of them if you comment and tag in under the article or DM me @rogersaj07. Also, if you retweet the article and DM me I will send you my player core that I will be locking into all of my lineups.
SP:
Top SP:
Dustin May: $9,300
I really do like Joe Musgrove tonight but he is priced up at $10,500. I’d rather save the $1.2k at SP and spend it on the bats. In his first two starts of 2021, May has a 31.8% strikeout rate, 6.8% walk rate, and 57.7% ground-ball rate. He should keep things rolling against the Mariners, who are a plus matchup for strikeouts
Value SP:
Dylan Bundy: $9,000
Bundy does not have a promising history against the Texas Rangers. Bundy isn’t the same pitcher for good reasons. Bundy has yet to record a win in three starts this year, but he does have 22 strikeouts in 19 innings. I expect Bundy to get his first win of the season tonight.
Top Stacks:
Los Angeles Dodgers:
The Dodgers do not exactly have a cakewalk matchup tonight, as Justus Sheffeld has proven himself to be a solid MLB pitcher. Stacking the Dodgers tonight is more-so due to their lethal right-handed batters. Justin Turner: $4,300 has seen his price jump to the $4k range, and rightfully so as he is playing some of his best baseball in his career. Turner and Mookie Betts: $4,500 are my top Dodgers tonight. Will Smith: $2,900 and Chris Taylor: $2,900 (2B/OF) are two solid options batting in the middle of the order.
Los Angeles Angels:
The Los Angeles Angels have not played in the last two days due to a postponement. So, they are well-rested for their matchup against Texas Rangers righty Kohei Arihara. Shohei Ohtani: $4,400, Mike Trout: $4,600, and Jared Walsh: $3,500 are my top plays on the Angels. David Fletcher: $3,100 (2B/SS) is an interesting option if he bats leadoff. A 1-2-3-4 stack has plenty of upside tonight
San Francisco Giants
The Dodgers and Angels have expensive stacks, so the Giants can provide some salary-relief. Giants draw one of the better matchups against Chase Anderson. My three favorite stacking options from the Giants, in order, however, are Evan Longoria $3,100, Mike Yastrzemski: $3,000 and Brandon Belt: $2,300. Righties are hitting .274 off of Anderson compared to .223 by lefties. This trio of Giants can pair nicely with the top Dodgers or Angels bats.
One-Off Value Plays By Position:
1B:
Keston Hiura: $2,600 (1B/2B)
2B:
Tommy Edman: $2,900 (2B/OF)
3B:
Tommy La Stella: $2,200 (3B/2B)
SS:
Isiah Kiner-Falefa: $2,800 (SS/3B)
OF:
Bryce Harper: $4,200
Avisail Garcia: $2,900
Dylan Carlson: $3,000
Core/Lineup:
I really like Dustin May: $9,300 and Dylan Bundy: $9,000 tonight. I will have an equal share of them. Mookie Betts: $4,500 is my favorite Dodger tonight. I will be stacking the Angels lefty bats, specifically Shohei Ohtani: $4,400 and Jared Walsh: $3,500. My favorite one-off bat is Bryce Harper: $4,200 who is playing in a very power friendly ballpark, especially from the left side of the plate.
