MLB DFS Picks for Fanduel 4/20/21

I had a disappointing night on Fanduel last night. My favorite stack, the Angels, did not come to play. Dylan Bundy only scored 15 FD pts and the Angels trio combined for 1-11 in AB’s and only scored 12.2 FD pts all together. Mookie Betts and Justin Turner played relatively well, but Mookie got injured in the Dodgers loss to the Mariners. I am ready to get back in the win columns for tonight’s 8-game MLB slate starting at 7:05 EST.

Top SP:

Corbin Burnes: $10,500

Corbin Burnes does not have the best matchup tonight against the Padres, but Burnes has been unreal in his first 3 starts. In baseball, the better pitcher beats the better pitcher. There just isn't anyone else who brings close to the same upside as Burnes. So far in three starts, he has whiffed at least nine batters in each of the outings, posting an eye-popping 48.5% strikeout rate. He also has not walked a single batter so far in 2021. He is my #1 option at SP tonight.

Value SP:

Taijuan Walker: $7,700

If you don't want to go to Burnes, Taijuan Walker is my favorite low-salary choice. Walker’s early 2021 results have shown promise. His fastball velocity is up a bit, and he's produced a 29.3% strikeout rate. The Cubs lineup are very strikeout heavy. I can see Walker’s notched close to 10k’s tonight.

Top Stacks:

St. Louis Cardinals:

The Cardinals are matched up against Patrick Corbin, who has been terrible in 2021. In his last two starts, he got lit up by the Dodgers (which is understandable) and the Diamondbacks. Corbin just doesn’t have it and I am going to exploit that tonight. Paul Goldschmidt ($3,800), Nolan Arenado ($4,000), and Paul DeJong ($2,800) are my favorite right-handed bats tonight. Switch-hitting leadoff hitter Tommy Edman ($3,000) is also an interesting value, he came off a nice game last night where he hit a 2-run homerun.

Houston Astros:

The Astros are expected to get Alex Bregman and Yordan Alvarez back tonight for their game in Coors Field. The Rockies are starting Jon Gray who has struggled against lefties this season. This bodes well for Kyle Tucker ($4,000) & Michael Brantley ($4,100). Alex Bregman ($3,500) may need a few games to get back in a groove but at this price I am willing to take a shot on him. If Tucker bats leadoff again, this can be a strong 1-2-3 stack.

New York Mets:

The Mets have a matchup against Jake Arrieta in Wrigley Field. Jake Arrieta isn't known for striking out many batters. Arrieta has given up a 40% hard contact rate to LHB. I am targeting the lefty bats in the middle of the Mets order. Dominic Smith ($2,900) is my favorite Met tonight. Smith has a .306 ISO vs RHP in his last 2 years in the show. Michael Conforto ($2,800) and Jeff Mcneil ($2,700) are two other sub 3k left-handed batters that I like tonight. You can’t go wrong with the $341 million man either. Francisco Lindor ($3,400) has been off to a slow start in 2021 but the switch-hitting shortstop has a long track record of success against RHP.

• Whit Merrifield: $4,000 (2B/OF)

3B:

• Ryan McMahon: $4,000 (3B/2B)

SS:

• Xander Bogaerts: $3,000

OF:

• Juan Soto: $4,200

• Ian Happ: $2,500 (OF/2B)

• Lourdes Gurriel Jr.: $2,200

Core/Lineup:

I am rolling with Corbin Burnes: ($10,500) on the hill against the Padres. The 2-3 power duo of Paul Goldschmidt ($3,800) and Nolan Arenado ($4,000) are my favorite Cardinals tonight. My favorite Astro is Kyle Tucker ($4,000) & my favorite Met is Dominic Smith ($2,900).
