Last night we suffered one of our only losing days as of recent, but the great thing about DFS is that we can bounce back the very next day. The baseball slate for today is on the smaller side with 7 total games. Although there are plenty of great hitting situations headlined by the Coors Field game, the pitching options are limited to just a few true candidates. Let's dive into my breakdown of the MLB main slate on FanDuel!

Weather Concerns:
SEA @ BAL - The only weather concern on the slate as things stand right now. The forecast shows storms prior to the game with another batch scheduled to arrive later in the game. Moderate risk of delay or postponement - check the weather closer to lock.
Top Pitchers:
1) Sean Manaea ($10200) -

There are not many pitcher options that I am intrigued by on tonight's main slate. In his current spot, Sean Manaea would be in play for me on a normal slate, but he likely wouldn't be my top option like he is today. Manaea has been hit or miss on most occasions this season as he highlights three games of 43+ FD points, but also has two games of 21 or less points. That is largely attributed to the fact that he gives up some hard contact, which isn't a serious concern for him tonight against the Brewers. The Brewers are a terrific team, but they only pose a 84 wRC+ against left-handed pitchers, and they strike out at a rate of 24.00%. With a 13.5% swinging strike rate and 26.4% overall strikeout rate, Manaea has the biggest K upside of any option tonight, which is why he sits in my top spot.
2) Sandy Alcantara ($11000) -
Of the top tier pitchers on this slate, Alcantara is the only pitcher aside from Manaea that I have great interest in. Alcantara isn't generating a ton of strikeouts with his current 24.00% rate, but the upside is still present as seen in his recent 14 K performance against the Braves. However, that total doubles his second highest total on the season, so don't expect a repeat showing. The characteristic that makes Sandy Alcantara so appealing is his longevity and minimal runs allowed. He has gone over 7 innings in his last four games, including him going over 8 in his last three. The reason I have Manaea a hair over him on this slate is because he draws the Giants tonight, who hit righties well with a 109 wRC+ while striking out at a low rate.
3) Tony Gonsolin ($9800) -
$9800 is a hefty price to play for Tony Gonsolin, but with limited options, he still falls into my third pitcher spot. Gonsolin has been stellar this season with a 1.80 ERA, although there appears to be some luck there as his SIERA is double that at a 3.67. His strikeout rate of 25.30% is neither a problem nor too appealing, but his upside is somewhat capped as he hasn't gone more than 6 innings once. Also, Gonsolin has a very tricky matchup against the Mets who are smoking righties as seen by their 122 wRC+. I will bet on talent over matchup today, although Gonsolin is clearly below the aforementioned players for me.
Value Pitcher:
Alex Wood ($7400) -
Although the pitching options are not plentiful, we do have a stellar value pitcher to target tonight. That pitcher is Alex Wood of the Giants, who carries an excellent matchup against the Marlins. Although Wood hasn't been great (4.81 ERA) and doesn't go deep into games, he can create strikeouts, and the Marlins love to do just that. Against lefties, the Marlins have a mammoth 29.7% strikeout rate, and create runs well below the league average with a 78 wRC+. If you are a player who loves to play multiple lineups, I would use the majority of my shares on Manaea, Alcantara, and Wood.
Other strong pitching options: Liberatore ($8000)
Top Stacks:
1) Braves -
All the stars are aligning for a Braves smash spot tonight. They have many lefty bashers on the team, are facing a struggling pitcher, and get a massive stadium upgrade at Coors Field. All of these factors are taken into account in their 6.43 projected run total, which is easily the highest on the slate. Austin Gomber hasn't surrendered much hard contact, but his 48.3% pull rate is high, and his ERA and SIERA sit at 5.51and 4.36 respectfully. Their entire lineup is playable in DFS, but Acuna, Riley, and Olson are the most appealing to me.
2) Reds -
If you take my advice and pair a Braves stack with one of the top pitchers tonight, you need salary relief at your other hitting spots, and the Reds provide just that. Being one of the worst teams in the league, the Reds have not been a popular stack target for me, but they have an elite matchup on this slate. They will face Joan Adon who has mightily struggled with a 6.08 ERA and 5.15 SIERA. He isn't allowing much hard contact or too many homers on the season which is a drawback, but his numbers are still appealing to stack against. The top options to stack on the team are Votto, Drury, Almora, and Pham.
3) Rockies -
The other half of the Coors game, and the home team, the Rockies, round out my top stacks of the day. The stadium advantage to hitters is an obvious bonus, but they are also in a good spot to hit against Ian Anderson. Anderson is a good player who should have a bright future, but his SIERA of 4.83 and pull rate of 53.80% are enticing to hit against at this point in his career. If you do target the Rockies, I am much more interested in Cron, McMahon, Blackmon, and Joe than I am the rest of their lineup.
Secondary Stacks/One-offs: Orioles, Mariners
