Happy New Years everyone! Last night, we capped off 2020 with a solid outing as we cashed easily in 50-50s and tournaments despite Zion playing limited minutes. For today's main slate, we have many more options as there are 10 games to pick players from. Let's dive into the breakdown of the NBA main slate on Fanduel and start 2021 with a bang!
REMINDER: If you would like the lineup that I will be using, RT the article post on twitter at @SportsVerseHQ, DM @Excyphir, and follow both accounts.
Top Play:
Zach LaVine - $7,900:
As you will tell from my core, I am all over the Bulls today, especially their value. Zach LaVine is an exception to the value part, but he is still one of my favorite plays of the slate. In his last three games, LaVine has scored 40, 47, and 51 FD points, which would all be good value at $7,900. The one concern would be the possibility of a blow-out, but that can be said for any given game if a team doesn't show up.
Best Value:
Thaddeus Young - $3,700:
In the Bulls last game, Thad Young played 27 minutes and scored 31 FD points. With no Markkanen today, I can only imagine that his minutes will increase, or stay the same at the least. At near minimum price, he is a terrific option and will be in my lineup today. There are tons of other great value plays as well such as Delon Wright, Josh Jackson, Naz Reid, Brandon Clarke, and more.
Fade:
Anthony Davis - $10,500:
Although I don't expect this to be close to true come closer to roster lock, the main tool I use projects AD to be the third highest owned player on the slate. If LeBron ends up missing the game, I can see where Davis could make some lineups, but I still wouldn't be too intrigued by the play. He is averaging less than 40 FD points a game on the young season, and you are hoping for over 50 with his current price. Also, there is tons of value at PF on the slate so I would prefer to spend up elsewhere.
Main Player Pool:
Point Guard:
Jrue Holiday - $6,600
Coby White - $6,100
Tyus Jones - $5,700
Other great plays: Trae Young - $9,700, Kyrie Irving - $9,300, Raul Neto - $4,500, Monte Morris (great if Jamal sits), Ish Smith - $3,800
Shooting Guard:
Zach LaVine - $7,900
Devonte' Graham - $6,100
Delon Wright - $4,400
Other great plays: Paul George - $7,800, D'Angelo Russell - $7,500, Dillon Brooks - $6,600, Andrew Wiggins - $6,400, Derrick Rose - $5,700, Kevin Huerter - $4,000
Small Forward:
Will Barton - $5,000
Josh Jackson - $4,800
Otto Porter - $4,400
Other great plays: Kawhi Leonard - $9,800, Kevin Durant - $9,400, Kelly Oubre - $5,800, Miles Bridges - $5,000, Cam Reddish - $4,600, Joe Harris - $4,500, Carmelo Anthony - $4,000
Power Forward:
Brandon Clarke - $4,800
Naz Reid - $4,700
Thaddeus Young - $3,700
Other great plays: Giannis Antetokounmpo - $11,400, John Collins - $7,000, Paul Millsap - $4,700, Jae Crowder - $4,600, Royce O'Neale - $3,900
Center:
Nikola Jokic - $10,200
Thomas Bryant - $5,800
Wendell Carter - $5,500
Other great plays: Jonas Valanciunas -$7,700, Mason Plumlee - $6,200, Serge Ibaka - $5,100, Bismack Biyombo - $5,000, Jakob Poeltl - $4,600 (if Aldrige sits), Robert Williams - $4,200
Core/Lineup:
My core 3 are and Zach LaVine, Otto Porter, and Thaddeus Young. As you can tell, I really love the Bulls today at their price tags.
