NBA DFS Picks For FanDuel 1/31/22

I am currently on my best NBA streak of the season as the lineups have managed to cash in tournaments in six consecutive days! As things still stand, there are many players in the league's health and safety protocols, so other players will have to step in and fill the void, creating for interesting DFS scenarios. The main slate tonight is a normal sized one with 8 total games, so there are plenty of intriguing player options to choose from. As on most slates, we have a lot of prevalent injury news that we are waiting on which could shake up the slate when released. Be sure to keep on eye on these injury situations as we approach roster lock. Let's dive in to the breakdown of the NBA main slate on FanDuel tonight!

Top Play:

Josh Giddey (SG - $5700) -

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has been ruled out through the All-Star break with an ankle injury, so Josh Giddey will be tasked with handling a larger share of the ball-handling workload moving forward. Giddey is seeing a 23.1% usage rate while averaging 1.08 fantasy points per minute when playing without SGA this season, which is a slight boost compared to his 21.7% and 1.03 totals when SGA plays. Josh Giddey has been one of the safest mid-tier price plays all season long, while still having strong upside due to his ability to rack up assists and rebounds. Giddey has scored more than 21 FD points in every single game that he has played in his recent game log (22 games). Within that same span, he has 7 games of scoring over 35 FD points. $5700 is a very friendly salary for the role that Giddey will carry tonight, especially against a weak defensive Trail Blazers roster.

Best Value:

Andre Drummond (C - $4400) -

ree

Andre Drummond is the DFS lock of the century. With Joel Embiid resting against the Grizzlies tonight, Andre Drummond should draw the start and play the majority of minutes as the starting center. It has been some time since Drummond has seen himself in a similar scenario, but he smashed value nearly every time that Embiid didn't suit up earlier this season. When Drummond has been on the court without Embiid this season, he has produced more than anyone else on the roster with a 1.25 fantasy point per minute average. His salary is at a ridiculous $4400 tonight - doubling his cost would be a more appropriate price tag for tonight than his actual one. Drummond should be in line for a 35+ FD point performance, which is value that you simply cannot pass on, even if he draws 100% ownership. Drummond is very easily the top play of the slate as well, but it is easier to group him in with the value.
