NBA DFS Picks For Fanduel 1/5/21

My lineup finally broke the cold streak! If you missed the article yesterday, my lineup core of Pritchard, Barrett, and Tatum went nuts, and I ended up cashing in all formats with ease despite having poor showings from Hield and Bey. Today, we return to one of the smaller sized slates with only 5 games on the agenda. Since player options are limited, you likely need to nail every pick to have a chance at cashing. If you would like to see my lineup advice for the NBA main slate on Fanduel today, keep reading!

Top Play:
Caris LeVert - $6,100:
With Kevin Durant quarantining for 7 days due to COVID-19, Caris LeVert will be a top play during the next few games as long as his price tag stays around where it currently is. In games without Irving or Durant this season, LeVert's usage has sky-rocketed, so I expect it to increase by a good margin without Durant, even if Kyrie is playing. Caris LeVert is going to be chalky, but he is still a lock for me.
Best Value:
Joe Harris - $4,600:
The same thing that was said for Caris LeVert also applies to Joe Harris. Although Harris' usage probably won't increase significantly like LeVert's due to his role, Harris should see more shots with Durant not playing. Even with Durant on the court, Joe Harris has seen 24, 31, 31, and 31 FD points in his last four games, all of which would be good for his current price. I love the value in Joe Harris tonight.
Fade:
Mike Conley - $7,000:
Although Mike Conley has started off his 2021 campaign hot, I am not a fan of his at $7,000. With that price, you are hoping for at least 35 FD points from him, and I don't think his median his quite up to that range. He has multiple games over 40 FD points this season so he is a GPP option, but I still don't love him there. He is an inconsistent producer, and I think his ceiling is lower than many of the other guys in his range. I would much prefer to play Irving, Dame, Jamal Murray, or Coby White at their prices.
Main Player Pool:
Point Guard:
Kyrie Irving - $9,700
Jamal Murray - $7,900
Coby White - $6,200
Other great plays: Damian Lillard - $9,200, Tyus Jones - $5,700, Monte Morris - $4,500, Ricky Rubio - $4,500, Lou Williams - $4,000 (punt option), Patty Mills - $3,900 (punt option), Patrick Beverley - $3,800 (punt option)
Shooting Guard:
Zach LaVine - $8,100
Caris LeVert - $6,100
Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot - $4,100
Other great plays: Paul George - $8,800 (more of a GPP play), DeMar DeRozan - $8,400, Dennis Schroder - $5,700, Malik Beasley - $5,600, Lonnie Walker - $4,400
Small Forward:
Kawhi Leonard - $10,100
Joe Harris - $4,600
Carmelo Anthony - $4,200
Other great plays: LeBron James - $10,200, Kyle Anderson - $6,300, Otto Porter Jr. - $5,300, Rudy Gay - $4,800, Derrick Jones Jr. - $3,600
Power Forward (position is very bad today):
Brandon Clarke - $5,100
Robert Covington - $5,000
JaMychal Green - $3,900
Other great plays: Anthony Davis - $10,000, Bojan Bogdanovic - $5,300, Naz Reid - $4,800, Paul Millsap - $4,400, Nicolas Batum - $4,400, Thaddeus Young - $4,100, Kyle Kuzma - $4,100
Center:
Nikola Jokic - $10,500
Wendell Carter - $4,900
Serge Ibaka - $4,500
Other great plays: Jonas Valanciunas - $6,800, Montrezl Harrell - $5,300, Gorgui Dieng - $4,200, Ivica Zubac - $3,900
Core/Lineup:
My core are Caris LeVert, Joe Harris, and Nikola Jokic.
