If you follow my lineups, you know that it doesn't get more unlucky than what happened yesterday. I am not going to go on a rant, but let's just say that I had Trae Young (worst career game) and De'Aaron Fox (got injured). Anyways, the slate today is back on the smaller side, so each pick you make will be crucial to your success. Per usual, there is some looming news that we are waiting on, so my lineup and the top picks in this article could change. Make sure you stay on top of all news before the start of the slate. Let's jump into the breakdown of the NBA main slate on Fanduel today!
REMINDER: If you would like the lineup that I will be using, RT the article post on twitter at @SportsVerseHQ, DM @Excyphir, and follow both accounts.
Top Play:
Cedi Osman - $5,200:
There are two players I am 100% locking into my lineups. The first is my value play listed below, and the second is Cedi Osman. Since he is the other player I will be rostering, it only makes since that he is my top play of the slate, even if he isn't one of the more expensive options. The Cavaliers will be without Darius Garland and Dante Exum again, and Collin Sexton is questionable, which means that Cedi is going to get a plethora of quality minutes with good usage. I would put him in your lineup and not think twice about it.
Best Value:
Juancho Hernangomez - $4,200:
As mentioned above, Juancho Hernangomez is a player that I will be locking into my lineup today. He has seen a huge bump in minutes in his last two games with 25 and 34 minutes of play time. His 34 minute game was likely due to him having the hot hand in a revenge match against the Nuggets, but he has proven he is clearly the better starter over Naz Reid. At $4,200, he is a must play. Even if he does have a bad scoring output, it won't hurt you much as nearly everyone will have him rostered.
Fade:
Tobias Harris - $7,900:
(not a fade target if both Curry and Embiid don’t play)
Tobias Harris is my fade of the day. His price tag is too expensive for me given his sporadic fantasy production, but he does have a high ceiling which makes him an acceptable GPP play, especially if Embiid rests. In his last two showings, he only has 30 FD points in each, and those were with quality minutes. Given that I already locked in Cedi, I would take a cut on the other small forward slot and spend up elsewhere - preferably at PG, SG, or C.
Main Player Pool:
Point Guard:
Luka Doncic - $11,100
Kyrie Irving - $10,000 (NOW RULED OUT)
Tyus Jones - $5,400
Other great plays: Damian Lillard - $9,200, Ben Simmons - $8,700, Jamal Murray - $7,600, Dejounte Murray - $7,200, Patty Mills - $4,300, Jalen Brunson - $4,200
Shooting Guard:
Collin Sexton - $6,900 (if he plays with no limits)
Caris LeVert - $6,500
Malik Beasley - $5,600
Other great plays: CJ McCollum - $9,000, DeMar DeRozan - $8,200, Dillon Brooks - $6,000, Dennis Schroder - $5,300, Josh Richardson - $4,800
Small Forward:
LeBron James - $10,100
Kyle Anderson - $5,900
Cedi Osman - $5,200
Other great plays: Tim Hardaway Jr. - $5,700, Joe Harris - $4,900, Dorian Finney-Smith - $4,400, Carmelo Anthony - $4,200, Danny Green - $3,900, Isaac Okoro - $3,600
Power Forward:
Robert Covington - $5,000
Juancho Hernangomez - $4,200
Kyle Kuzma - $4,100 (if AD doesn't play)
Other great plays: Larry Nance - $6,800, Brandon Clarke - $5,100, Naz Reid - $4,400, JaMychal Green - $4,200
Center:
Nikola Jokic - $11,300
Jarrett Allen - $6,300
Gorgui Dieng - $4,600
Other great plays: Joel Embiid - $9,900, Jonas Valanciunas - $6,500, Jusuf Nurkic - $6,200, Marc Gasol - $4,000 (if AD doesn't play), Dwight Howard - $3,800 (if Embiid rests)
Core/Lineup:
My core 3 are Caris LeVert, Cedi Osman, and Juancho Hernangomez.
