NBA DFS Picks For FanDuel 10/22/21

The return of the NBA hasn't been treating me the best in DFS. On the first main slate of the season, the lineup I provided was able to cash in large field tournaments, but not small field ones. On the last two main slates, I have missed in all formats, widely due to many of my key players in each lineup not playing much in blow out games. Luckily, we are still riding hot off of our recent NFL success, so the money will especially start raking in when we get on track in basketball. For today, we have the second large slate of the season with a total of 20 teams playing. Let's dive in to the breakdown of the NBA main slate on FanDuel!

Top Play:

Spencer Dinwiddie (SG/PG - $6200) -

ree

Bradley Beal is trending towards not playing tonight, which would leave the already short-staffed Wizards roster even more depleted. If he is ultimately ruled out, I would expect Spencer Dinwiddie, Kyle Kuzma, Daniel Gafford, and Montrezl Harrell to be the main beneficiaries in terms of usage. All of these players are at an excellent price tag for the role they will need to carry, but Spencer Dinwiddie is my favorite. He is the most expensive at $6200, but he is the only primary ball-handler of the bunch, and should easily see the most touches with Bradley Beal out. Production has to come from somewhere on the team, and there is now a ton of usage that needs to be picked up, so anyone on the team who sees quality minutes is a solid play. I would recommend getting some exposure to the Wizards in your lineups tonight.

Best Value:

Franz Wagner (SF/SG - $4000) -

There are numerous plays slightly priced over $5000 that I like a little more than Franz Wagner tonight, but this award has consistently been given to players under $5000 in the past, so I will carry on with the tradition. That isn't to say that I don't love Wagner as a play today, because I very much do. During the Magic's season opener on Wednesday, Franz Wagner drew the start and produced 29 FD points across 32 minutes. Unless the player is of the PJ Tucker or Tony Snell type, anyone that sees that quality of minutes at a $4000 price tag will be an excellent play, especially on a poor team. The Magic play the Knicks who like to play a slow pace, but they did give up some points in their overtime victory over Boston in the opener. You don't need to lock Franz Wagner in your lineups, but he is a terrific spend down option.
