Saying that the start of the NBA DFS season has been rough would be an understatement. Aside from a couple of good slates, it has been a very disappointing opening two weeks for myself. Fortunately, the NBA season isn't going away anytime soon, so we have nothing but time to turn it around. For today's slate, we only have five games, with a lot of prevalent injury news still up in the air. Since we have less player options to pick from, I will try to account for all injury situations in this article. As always, be sure to keep up to date with the injury news prior to lock. Let's dive in to the breakdown of the NBA main slate on FanDuel tonight!

Top Play:
Giannis Antetokounmpo (PF/SF - $11300) -

The Bucks have a laundry list of injuries to monitor tonight including Jrue Holiday, Khris Middleton, and Brook Lopez already being ruled out, with Grayson Allen, Rodney Hood, and Giannis all listed as probable. We already know that Giannis is the best fantasy performer in all of basketball, but he sees
an even bigger uptick in usage with the other three components of the Bucks big four out. This spot would normally be a potential blow out spot as it is the defending champions against the worst team in the league from a season ago, but I don't expect that to be the case provided the Bucks current situation. I don't need to try to sell you on Giannis - he is already the top fantasy scorer in basketball, but with an added boost for tonight.
Best Value:
Thanasis Antetokounmpo (SF/PF - $4200) -
There may not be many more opportunities for me to discuss a pair of brothers as the top play and top value recipients, so I need to capitalize on that chance today. As mentioned above, the Bucks are going to be without three of their usual starters today, which makes nearly everyone on the roster who sees minutes a solid play. Thanasis Antetokounmpo is one of these players, and my favorite of the bunch. In a similar situation on Sunday, Thanasis registered 32 minutes and was able to produce 34 FD points within that time span. Given that he starts again today, I would expect a similar production output from him tonight against the Pistons. At a price of $4200, that is terrific return on value. Other top value plays are Bobby Portis and Jalen Brunson, with Javale McGee, Jae Crowder, Dewayne Dedmon, Kent Bazemore, and Malik Monk being candidates depending on the situations of Ayton, Bam, and LeBron.
