NBA DFS Picks For FanDuel 12/29/21

It feels great to have our strongest score of the year, 407, come during the holiday season, even if it was a high scoring slate overall last night. As things still stand, there are many players in the league's health and safety protocols, so other players will have to step in and fill the void, creating for interesting DFS scenarios. The main slate tonight is a larger sized one that features 8 total games, so there are plenty of intriguing player options to choose from. As on most slates, we have a lot of prevalent injury news that we are waiting on which could shake up the slate when released. Be sure to keep on eye on these injury situations as we approach roster lock. Since there are so many games tonight. Let's dive in to the breakdown of the NBA main slate on FanDuel tonight!

Top Play:

*UPDATE: MIA-SA has been postponed*

Tyler Herro (SG/SF - $6200) -

ree

As things currently stand, the Heat only have 7 active players on their roster. They will need 8 to be able to play tonight, but it appears that they will try signing a player in the San Antonio area rather than face a postponement. If the game does end up playing, then every active player on the Heat will be an excellent option. Although stacking as many Heat players as you can is the preferable strategy tonight, Tyler Herro still stands out as the best play for the team. Tyler Herro has been hot for the majority of this season, and is actually priced a little down from usual despite the current situation he is in. The Heat have virtually refused to put him in the starting lineup even with plenty of injuries, but they will have no other option but to start him tonight. Even if he has a miserable shooting game, Tyler Herro will still likely excel value as he will have to play 38+ minutes and see an unreal usage rate.

Best Value:

*UPDATE: MIA-SA has been postponed*

Omer Yurtseven (C - $5500) -

My best value play is usually reserved for a player that is priced below $5000, but Omer Yurtseven is too good of an option to not discuss tonight. As mentioned above in my section covering Tyler Herro, the Heat will be drastically short-staffed tonight. With no other power forward or center on the active roster, Yurtseven will have to play major minutes, and he is averaging 1.06 FD points per minute this season. Yurtseven has played quality minutes in his last two games due to the injury to Dewayne Dedmon, and he scored 37 and 33 FD points in those games. Both of those scores would be 6x value or more at his current price tag, and he falls into an even more appealing game script tonight. I would highly recommend playing 4 Heat players tonight if the game doesn't get postponed.
