NBA DFS Picks For Fanduel 12/31/20

Last night's main slate was a let down for many people, including me. Luka had a miserable fantasy performance, and other players such as Tyus Jones, Dillon Brooks, Finney-Smith, and Poeltl didn't live up to the value hype either. For tonight's slate, we only have 4 games, so every pick is going to count. Make sure to keep reading for my breakdown of the NBA main slate on Fanduel today!
REMINDER: If you would like the lineup that I will be using, RT the article post on twitter at @SportsVerseHQ, DM @Excyphir, and follow both accounts.
Top Play:
De'Aaron Fox - $7,900:
De'Aaron Fox is my favorite play on this small slate. The HOU-SAC game has the highest implied total of any game on the slate by a decent margin, and De'Aaron Fox will be the pace setter for the Kings. John Wall is making his Rockets debut which will be a harder defensive match-up for Fox, but it shouldn't limit him much. He has seen 40+ FD points in all three of his starts this season where he has played over 30 minutes.
Best Value:
Buddy Hield - $5,400:
Fox's teammate, Buddy Hield, is my favorite value play of the slate. As mentioned, this game should be the highest scoring one on the slate, and Hield will be the Kings number two scoring option. Hield has played over 33 minutes in each game this season, so his floor is relatively high, which is terrific when paired with his high ceiling. I really like Hield at $5,400.
Fade:
Brandon Ingram - $9,400:
Brandon Ingram is a tough fade today since the small forward position is so weak on this slate, but $9,400 is much more than I am willing to pay for him. He has started the season hot with an average of 42 FD points per game, but even that isn't enough to cover the value of his big price tag. I would look elsewhere.
Main Player Pool:
Point Guard:
De'Aaron Fox - $7,900
John Wall - $7,000
Elfrid Payton - $5,200
Other great plays: Kyle Lowry - $8,000, Mike Conley - $6,300
Shooting Guard:
James Harden - $11,500
Devin Booker - $7,500
Buddy Hield - $5,400
Other great plays: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander - $8,400, Donovan Mitchell - $7,900, Eric Bledsoe - $4,800, Jordan Clarkson - $4,800, Reggie Bullock - $3,600
Small Forward:
R.J. Barrett - $6,200
Mikal Bridges - $5,800
Cameron Johnson - $4,400
Other great plays: O.G. Anunoby - $6,500, Eric Gordon - $5,000, Danuel House - $4,100, Norman Powell - $3,800
Power Forward:
Pascal Siakam - $7,400
Marvin Bagley III - $5,100
Bojan Bogdanovic - $4,900
Other great plays: Zion Williamson - $8,300, Julius Randle - $8,000, Darius Bazley - $5,700, Jae Crowder - $4,400, Royce O'Neale - $3,800
Center:
Rudy Gobert - $7,700
Steven Adams - $5,400
Mitchell Robinson - $5,200
Other great plays: Deandre Ayton - $7,100, Al Horford - $5,400
Core/Lineup:
My core 3 are De'Aaron Fox, James Harden (no longer in core but still fine to play), and R.J. Barrett.
