NBA DFS Picks For FanDuel 12/6/21

The main slate tonight is a large one that features 10 total games, so there are plenty of intriguing player options to choose from. As on most slates, we have a lot of prevalent injury news that we are waiting on which could shake up the slate when released. Be sure to keep on eye on these injury situations as we approach roster lock. Since there are so many games tonight. Let's dive in to the breakdown of the NBA main slate on FanDuel tonight!

Top Play:

Kelly Oubre (SF/SG - $5800) -

I usually like to handout my top play of the day to one of the pricier options on the slate, but Kelly Oubre doesn't meet the sub $5000 cost threshold to be labeled as a value play, and he is too strong of an option to not talk about. The Hornets are playing on the second leg of a back-to-back without two of their star players in LaMelo Ball and Terry Rozier, as they have been placed in the league's healthy protocols. Mason Plumlee is also in the protocol, but he has missed a lot of time recently anyways. Due to their absences, Ish Smith and Kelly Oubre are the two players that have seen and will continue to see the biggest boost in minutes. Last night, Oubre played a whopping 38 minutes and scored 38 FD points. This may usually be a cause for concern with a potential reduced minute resting situation, but I highly doubt that will be the case tonight. The situation that Oubre is in creates a median and ceiling that far exceeds what his cost of $5800 should represent. Stack some Hornets into your lineups tonight as I guarantee the slate will end with the optimal lineup having at least two.

Best Value:

Ish Smith (PG/SG - $4500) -

(UPDATE - Ish Smith is out tonight, my best value play is now Kevin Huerter).

Essentially everything that I just covered with Kelly Oubre remains true for Ish Smith, but he comes in at an even cheaper price point tonight. With both LaMelo Ball and Terry Rozier sidelined, Smith is the player that has seen the biggest increase in court time as he has been forced to enter the starting lineup. Last night, Ish Smith produced 37 FD points across 32 minutes of court time. I am not sure what FanDuel was thinking when they reduced his price to $4500 for tonight, but it makes Ish Smith a lock in any contest format. $4500 is far too cheap for Smith with the current situation of the Hornets. You only need 23 FD points for him to exceed 5x value, and is median is about 7 points higher than that tonight. Put Ish Smith in your lineup and don't think twice about it.
