If you follow me on twitter, then you know that I was not pleased with how yesterday unfolded. First, Tyler Herro was late-scratched and ended up getting 0 for the lineup. Second, Carmelo Anthony got sent to the line on a bogus foul call at the end of regulation to win the game. If Herro had played or that game went to OT, then I would have cashed big. To top it off, Fanduel still hasn't came to a conclusion about what to do with the Herro situation that they have been "monitoring." Anyway, the main slate today is much bigger with a total of 11 games. As I say everyday, the top plays and my lineup core can change with injury or rest news, so make sure to stay up to date. Let's dive into the breakdown of the NBA main slate on Fanduel today!
Reminder: If you would like the lineup that I will be using, RT the article post on twitter for at @SportsVerseHQ, DM @Excyphir, and follow them both. Since my lineups usually change with injury news, be sure to check DMs before lock in case of a change.
Top Play:
Giannis Antetokounmpo - $11,000:
With all the value on the slate, it is very easy to pay up for multiple of the superstars. I value Giannis similar to Luka and Jokic tonight, but decided to lean to him as my top play due to the strength at point guard and center. If you are locking in Pritchard like me, there is only one other point guard play available, and you will have to decide on that between Luka, Lillard, Westbrook, etc. Similarly, you only have one center, and there are other solid options besides Jokic such as Horford, Kanter, Valanciunas, etc. At power forward, it is much easier to lock in Giannis next to Stewart since the only other good expensive plays in my eyes are Tatum and Randle, who aren't quite as strong of plays as the other positional groups. Rudy Gobert's defensive presence might scare some people, but Giannis was able to score 35 points in 32 minutes against Utah earlier in the season.
Best Value:
Isaiah Stewart - $3,600:
Payton Pritchard was a very strong contestant for this top value spot, but I ultimately decided to give it to Isaiah Stewart. Last night without Mason Plumlee, Stewart played 31 minutes and scored 36 FD points. With Plumlee out again and at just $3,600, there is no reason why Stewart shouldn't hit 6-10x value. In my opinion, both Stewart and Pritchard are free squares for the slate today, so there isn't much that needs to be said.
