With JaMychal Green leaving the game early in the first quarter last night, I knew that my lineup was probably ending early. Ultimately, that and chalk Seth Curry only scoring 10 points left me no chance of cashing, but I can't be mad with the recent success I have been having. Moving on to today, we have a smaller slate with only five games, so every pick is going to be crucial. Due to the smaller nature of the slate, my player pool will be smaller than usual. As I say everyday, the top plays and my lineup core can change with injury or rest news, so make sure to stay up to date. Let's dive into the breakdown of the NBA main slate on Fanduel today!
Reminder: If you would like the lineup that I will be using, RT the article post on twitter for at @SportsVerseHQ, DM @Excyphir, and follow them both. Since my lineups usually change with injury news, be sure to check DMs before lock in case of a change.
Top Play:
LeBron James - $10,500:
Like my value play mentioned below, a large reason why LeBron James is my top play of the day is because he isn't a guard. In terms of pure value, I would rank Damian Lillard, LaMelo Ball, and Ja Morant as slightly better plays than LeBron today, but the problem is, you can only play two of those point guards, and that is if you fade the stud value option in De'Anthony Melton. There are some other great plays at SF, but it is not nearly as stacked as the PG position. Without AD and Schroder, LeBron will see insane usage, which is another reason why he is my top guy. The Jimmy Butler/Bam Adebayo defensive draw is tough, but nothing out of the ordinary for LeBron.
Best Value:
Xavier Tillman - $4,100:
With Kyle Anderson, Dillon Brooks, Grayson Allen, and Brandon Clarke all being ruled out for the Grizzlies today, there are tons of value openings to pick from on the team. Of these, the best in my eyes are De'Anthony Melton, Desmond Bane, and Xavier Tillman. Any of those three could be picked for this spot, but I decided to go with Tillman as the top option based on the strength of other players at PG and SG. Damian Lillard, LaMelo Ball, Ja Morant, Bradley Beal, and Terry Rozier are all very good options at those positions, while PF virtually has no good expensive options aside from Bam. I will be locking in Tillman today, as well as a few of the other Grizzlies value plays.
