Last night's lineup was a dud and ended our short little streak of cashing. You can't win every slate, and the best thing about DFS is that you have the opportunity to bounce back the very next day. The slate for today is a little ugly, but there are some injured and resting players that create some solid value options. In totality, we have 5 games to focus on constructing rosters from. As I say everyday, the top plays and my lineup core can change with injury or rest news, so make sure to stay up to date. Let's dive into the breakdown of the NBA main slate on Fanduel today!
Reminder: If you would like the lineup that I will be using, RT the article post on twitter for at @SportsVerseHQ, DM @Excyphir, and follow them both. Since my lineups usually change with injury news, be sure to check DMs before lock in case of a change.
Top Play:
Luka Doncic - $11,500:
With the slate being pretty ugly and there only being 7 active players (as of now) priced over $9,000, Luka Doncic is the obvious pay up option for you to choose. Prior to his game last night, Luka hadn't hit the 5x value threshold in four consecutive games, but he is still the safest of the studs and has the highest upside of any of them. Nikola Jokic and Joel Embiid have been reliable fantasy options as well, but with the limited options and value plays available, you can easily pair either of them with Luka. LeBron James, Trae Young, Anthony Davis, and Steph Curry all have huge upside too, but are not nearly as consistent with their fantasy production. Also, Dallas has the third highest implied total of the teams playing today.
Best Value:
Rodney Hood - $4,000:
The active players for the Trail Blazers tonight are Anfernee Simons, Gary Trent Jr., Rodney Hood, Robert Covington, Enes Kanter, Carmelo Anthony, Harry Giles, CJ Elleby, and Keljin Blevins. Any of these guys are solid options on a depleted team (besides Elleby and Blevins, unless they start somehow), but Rodney Hood is my favorite of the bunch. Coming off a game where Hood played 35 minutes, he has the cheapest price tag of the probable starters at just $4,000. With the 35+ minutes he should play today, it is virtually impossible that he doesn't hit value, barring injury. Rodney Hood will be a core play for me on this slate.
