The main slate tonight is on the larger side with 9 total games, so there are plenty of intriguing player options. As on most slates, we have a lot of prevalent injury news that we are waiting on which could shake up the slate when released. Be sure to keep on eye on these injury situations as we approach roster lock. Let's dive in to the breakdown of the NBA main slate on FanDuel tonight!

Top Play:
Luka Doncic (PG/SG - $10600) -

Coming off two poor fantasy showings for his usual standards, Luka Doncic's salary has dipped slightly into the mid $10000s. In those two games, Luka produced 42 and 37 FD points, which is significantly lower than his 52 point average. In a six game stretch prior to those two games, Luka was averaging 60.5 FD points per game, so don't let recency bias dissuade you. The Mavericks play at the second slowest pace of any team in the league, but the Timberwolves play at the fastest, so expect a faster tempo game which should equate to a Luka stat show. Of all of the spend up options on this slate, Luka Doncic is my favorite. He will be a core roster piece in my lineup construction process.
Best Value:
Derrick White (PG - $4600) -
The Celtics have ruled out Marcus Smart and Robert Williams for tonight's contest against the G-League Thunder roster, which means that Derrick White and Al Horford will see an increase in minutes and usage. With a salary of just $4600, Derrick White draws the title of best value play for tonight's slate. From a fantasy perspective, White has struggled mightily as of late as he has failed to surpass 17 FD points in four consecutive contests. A large burden of those struggles can be placed on the fact that he only eclipsed 23 minutes in one of those games, but we still expect more from him even in limited minutes. Regardless, Derrick White is in line to draw the start and play quality minutes, so $4600 is far too cheap of a salary for his current situation.
