NBA DFS Picks For FanDuel 3/23/22

The main slate tonight is a large one with 11 total games, so there are plenty of intriguing player options. As on most slates, we have a lot of prevalent injury news that we are waiting on which could shake up the slate when released. Be sure to keep on eye on these injury situations as we approach roster lock. Let's dive in to the breakdown of the NBA main slate on FanDuel tonight!

Top Play:

RJ Barrett (SF/SG - $7300) -

Julius Randle is listed as doubtful for tonight's contest against the Hornets, so RJ Barrett should be in line for an expanded role once again. In a similar situation last night, RJ Barrett scored 51 FD points across 41 minutes. That minute total might not seem sustainable on the surface, but Barrett has averaged nearly 39 minutes per game across his last 13 - a remarkable total. Not only does RJ Barrett have a boosted usage and expected high minute total tonight, but he also has a desirable matchup. The Hornets allow the fourth most fantasy points to opposing small forwards, so expect Barrett to use his scoring ability to feast. There are terrific value plays at every position, so it is easy to fit RJ Barrett and your favorite higher priced studs tonight.

Best Value:

Davion Mitchell ($4600) -

With De'Aaron Fox doubtful and Damontas Sabonis out for tonight's game against the Pacers, Davion Mitchell might be the main offensive contributor for the Kings tonight. In their most recent overtime game against the Suns, Davion Mitchell played an astonishing 46 minutes and produced 43 FD points. Assuming the game ends in regulation, I wouldn't presume Mitchell to exceed 40 minutes again, but his projected total as of now is around 35. He is currently averaging .82 FD points per minute without De'Aaron Fox sharing the court, which would put his expected fantasy output close to 30 FD points. That total is not taking into account that the SAC-IND game has the third highest implied total on the slate, or that the Pacers are the third worst team at defending opposing point guards, so that number can be increased even further. Davion Mitchell would be a lock on any other slate, but there are so many elite options at a sub $5000 cost tonight that it makes it impossible to hone in on any one person. Regardless, Davion Mitchell is my favorite value play of the day and will likely be in my lineup.
