I made some excellent calls on leverage plays in my lineup for yesterday's main slate (playing Steph/Kawhi over Kyrie/Butler, and playing both Cavs PFs), but playing Gordon Hayward and not Bogdanovic left me just outside of the cash at 323 FD points. There are many great plays to pick from on today's 10 game main slate, which means it should be a high-scoring night. However, with all the injuries for the Hawks and Pelicans, the slate should be chalkier than most other large slates. As I say everyday, the top plays and my lineup core can change with injury or rest news, so make sure to stay up to date. Let's dive into the breakdown of the NBA main slate on Fanduel today!
Reminder: If you would like the lineup that I will be using, RT the article post on twitter for at @SportsVerseHQ, DM @Excyphir, and follow them both. Since my lineups usually change with injury news, be sure to check DMs before lock in case of a change. I usually send my lineups out around 30 minutes to an hour prior to lock, so as long as you have followed the steps and DMed me, you will receive it.
Top Play:
Nickeil Alexander-Walker - $5,800:

The Pelicans injury report is long for tonight's game against the Hawks, with Williamson, Ingram, Ball, and Hart all being ruled out. The remaining players in the Pelicans' usual rotation are going to see a huge boost in usage tonight, with Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Eric Bledsoe, Kira Lewis Jr., James Johnson, and Steven Adams being the main beneficiaries. Nickeil Alexander-Walker earns the top play of the slate position due to the fact that he has hit value at his current price tag in six consecutive games, including a 46 FD point showing last night. Josh Hart even played in that game, so NAW is in his best spot of the season. He is a lock for me.
Best Value:
James Johnson - $3,500:

Coming in as a likely starter on a diminished active roster at the minimum price of $3,500, James Johnson is another lock for me today. In last night's game, Johnson played 28 minutes and scored 29 FD points. Given that the Pelicans are in an even worse spot today since Josh Hart is ruled out, I don't see any way that Johnson plays less minutes, even if the game yesterday did go to overtime. In my eyes, barring injury, there is no way that James Johnson doesn't smash value.
