NBA DFS Picks For Fanduel 8/1/2020

I couldn't have asked for a better start to the renewed NBA season. Yesterday, our lineup cashed in all formats again, as we nearly scored 400 points, and that was with Kyle Anderson who didn't even reach 10. The last slate had crazy pricing all-around that allowed for wild lineups - today is a little more balanced. I am looking to keep that momentum today and reach 3-0 on the new bubble season.

Injury News:

- Victor Oladipo is listed as a GTD. His true status is not clear, so keep an eye on updates for him.

- Malcolm Brogdon is a GTD, but should play today.

- LeBron James/Anthony Davis/Kyle Kuzma are probable, but should play again.

- Glenn Robinson is doubtful to play today.

- Jamal Murray has recently been ruled out and will not play.

Point Guard:

Mike Conley - $5,700:

Conley saw success in his bubble opener. He scored over 30 FD points and didn't get a bump in his price for today. The Jazz do have one of the lower implied team totals today, but that doesn't stop me from loving Mike Conley. He should be priced over $6,000 and probably will be soon.

Shake Milton - $4,400:

Shake Milton will draw the start as the 76ers decided to go with a smaller lineup in the bubble, one where Ben Simmons will be playing PF (still listed as a PG on FD though). The 76ers are projected to score the second most points of any team today, so it'll be tough to go wrong with his value.

Monte Morris - $3,900:

Like Milton, Morris is a pure value play here. The Nuggets are without Gary Harris and Jamal Murray, so Morris should see good minutes and reach his value with ease.

Other great plays: Ben Simmons - $8,000, Reggie Jackson - $4,100

Shooting Guard:

Paul George - $7,700:

In the first game back for the Clippers, Paul George found a very high usage rate. He scored nearly 45 FD points in that game, and only got a slight increase in his price. There is small blow-out potential in the game, but without Harrell and Williams, I am not too worried.

Donovan Mitchell - $7,200:

Donovan Mitchell is in the same boat as Paul George. He started off slow on Thursday, but finished very strong and ended with nearly 45 FD points. His value did not change at all, and he is a terrific play once again for the slate.

Jordan Clarkson - $4,500:

I wrote about Jordan Clarkson's potential to explode in the first article (ended with 37.5 FD points at 8.7x value), and the same methodology applies today. He is going to get a lot of scoring opportunities - too many for his measly $4,500 price tag.

Other great plays (lots of good plays today): Jimmy Butler - $8,000, Jrue Holiday $7,700, Fred VanVleet - $6,400, Josh Richardson - $4,500, Torrey Craig - $3,600

Small Forward:

Pascal Siakam - $7,800:

Spicy P takes the court again for the first time since the hiatus. He is projected right around the 5x mark, but I like him a little more than that. He is one of the more fast-paced players in the league, and I think the Raptors will look to set the tempo against the Lakers.

Brandon Ingram - $7,400:

Brandon Ingram will be in for a tough assignment tonight with Kawhi Leonard guarding him, but I don't expect it to slow him down much. He under-performed slightly in terms of DFS on Thursday, but I think he has a big bounce back game today. The LAC-NO game should be the highest scoring one on the slate, and I want some of those players who are going to capitalize.

Joe Ingles - $4,900:

Despite seeing 31 minutes in the first game back, Joe Ingles only managed to score 21 FD points. His price tag surprisingly dropped by $600 from the first slate, and I am not too sure why. With the sheer amount of minutes he will get, and his scoring ability, Ingles should be a near lock to reach value.

Other great plays: Tobias Harris - $6,600, T.J. Warren - $6,000, OG Anunoby - $4,300

Power Forward:

Anthony Davis - $10,000:

Like I always say, it is never easy for me to pass-up on AD when making a DFS lineup. He looked terrific against the Clippers, and still didn't come close to his fantasy scoring potential due to his unusual no block and no steal game. I don't expect that too happen again - get yourself AD at only $10,000. *Make sure to check status before lock.*

Marcus Morris - $4,200:

Well, well, well... After saying he was my favorite player on the slate Thursday, Marcus Morris burned us for 3.1 points! No hard feelings though, as we still managed to cash out despite his disappointing showing. It is not often that Marcus Morris gets held scoreless, so I fully believe that he will bounce back today.

Michael Porter Jr. - $3,700:

At just over the minimum price, MPJ is an excellent play for anyone looking for value at the position. The Nuggets have some injuries on the team, so he should see a slight boost in his minutes. When seeing the court, he averages over 1 FD point/min, so he can capitalize on the minutes given to him.

Other great plays: Paul Millsap - $5,000, Jerami Grant - $4,300, JaMychal Green - $3,600

Center:

Nikola Jokic - $9,000:

Center is usually not a position that I like to pay up for, but I will be doing it today. $9,000 is pretty crazy for the Joker, particularly since Jamal Murray will not play. He is one of the most effective fantasy players in terms of FD points/min, and should continue that tonight. Jokic is a very good play.

Rudy Gobert - $7,400:

For some reason, Rudy Gobert saw a big price decrease for the slate today. I haven't seen him under $7,500 for awhile, so he is an excellent play for anyone who wants to spend up a little, and doesn't like Jokic too much.

Marc Gasol - $4,400:

Should be your value play at center if you do not want to spend up. He has had a hamstring injury that was limiting him before the pandemic, but all reports say that he looks good. He probably won't see an insane workload, but I can't imagine he won't hit value with his talent and low price tag.

Other great plays: Steven Adams - $6,000, Derrick Favors - $5,100, JaVale McGee - $4,100

Core/Example Lineup:

There are a lot of different ways you can go on this slate, but I like playing the cheap Nuggets with all the injuries on the team. My core 3 are Paul George, Anthony Davis, and Nikola Jokic.

PG - Mike Conley - $5,700 PG - Monte Morris - $3,900
