We are back today with another two game mini-slate for the NBA on Fanduel. Yesterday, we made most of the right picks, but Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jeff Green had disappointing games and caused us to fall out of the money. Like yesterday, there are very limited player options since we only have four teams to choose from, so just one bad play could be the difference in cashing or not. There is not any injury news on the slate as of now, so the top plays and my lineup will likely not be changing. Players are expensive and there is not much value, so today will be a difficult DFS day. Let's dive in!
Injury News:
- none as of now
Top Play:
Jaylen Brown - $6,300:
Once again, my top play and lock of the slate is Jaylen Brown. He didn't do too well in terms of fantasy in Game 1 against the Raptors, but I still expect him to be used heavily moving forward. I thought that $6,500 was low for him on last slate, and he received another small price reduction down to $6,300. Although I think he is great value, the main idea that secures him as my top play is the lack of good options at small forward. Siakam is a risky play at his price tag, and I like Jaylen much more than any of the options in the $5,000's. I would lock him into your team and not think about it.
Best Value:
Royce O'Neale - $4,600:
Once again, there is not much value on the slate. There are no super appealing cheap options under $5,000, but I decided to go with Royce O'Neale as the top one. He is very inconsistent with his fantasy scoring, but he has managed to eclipse 24 FD points twice in this series, so there is some upside. He isn't a reliable play, but he is fine given the price and lack of quality cheap power forwards on the slate. Monte Morris is another decent value play, but I would hope rather than expect a solid day from either player.
Fade:
Pascal Siakam - $8,200:
The player that I will be fading today is Pascal Siakam. I included him in my player pool simply due to the fact that he is the only expensive small forward on the slate, but I don't love the play. He is decent if you want uniqueness and are aiming for a big tournament win, but he is very risky and I would certainly avoid him in all cash formats. At $8,200 you are expecting him to go for over 40 FD points, and he has only managed to do that three times in the entirety of the bubble. Granted, two of those were in the playoffs, but I would still recommend going elsewhere on the slate today.
Player Pool:
Point Guard:
Jamal Murray - $9,400:
Kemba Walker - $7,800
Kyle Lowry - $7,500
Other great plays: Mike Conley - $6,600 (if you want uniqueness), Monte Morris - $4,000
Shooting Guard:
Donovan Mitchell - $8,500
Fred VanVleet - $7,600
Marcus Smart - $5,700
Other great plays: Jordan Clarkson - $5,300
Small Forward:
Jaylen Brown - $6,300
Jerami Grant - $5,100
Joe Ingles - $5,000
Other great plays: Pascal Siakam - $8,200 (risky formats only, only here because no other expensive options), O.G. Anunoby - $5,200
Power Forward:
Serge Ibaka - $6,500
Daniel Theis - $5,300
Royce O'Neale - $4,600
Other great plays: Jayson Tatum - $9,000, Michael Porter - $5,400
Center:
Nikola Jokic - $9,800
Rudy Gobert - $7,300
Marc Gasol - $4,500
Other great plays: none
