It felt good to get back in the win column yesterday after going on a short cold streak. The lineup cashed in all formats behind solid showings from Monte Morris, Jaylen Brown, Ibaka, Gobert, and others. As it will be for the rest of the second round from here on out, we have a small two game slate today. The Bucks will face off against the Heat after going down 0-1, and the Thunder take on the Rockets in another Game 7 match. I probably sound like a broken record after saying this the past few days, but with such a small slate with minimal value, just one wrong pick may be the difference in you winning or not. Let's jump into the top picks for the day!
Injury News:
- Eric Bledsoe is questionable for the Bucks with a hamstring injury that kept him out of Game 1.
Top Play:
Chris Paul - $8,200:
The top play of the slate for me is Chris Paul. He has been terrific in his first round series so far, scoring over 42 FD points in four of the Thunders' six games. According to the data, CP3 has been the most clutch player in the NBA this season, and it doesn't get more clutch than Game 7. Also, there are really only two other point guard options on the slate, those being Goran Dragic and either Eric Bledsoe or George Hill depending on the injury news. I will definitely be rostering Chris Paul on this slate.
Best Value:
Jae Crowder - $4,700:
Jae Crowder was my value pick on Monday, and he comes back for this slate with the exact same price tag. He was not able to reach value in the Heat's first game upset over the Bucks, but he still played solid minutes and will be a contributor going forward. He is by no means a lock for me with my lineups, but I will happily fit in him if the rest of my roster unfolds in a way that restricts me to his price range. If Bledsoe sits again, George Hill will be the best value even though he didn't have the best of games on Monday. Luguentz Dort, Darius Bazley, and Marvin Williams are all fine plays if you really need a flier at one of their positions.
Fade:
Russell Westbrook - $8,800:
Once again, I am taking the easy route and fading Russell Westbrook. With the limited players on the slate, there are not many players to choose from, so completely fading some of the more expensive options are risky. However, Russell Westbrook is still on a minutes limit, and has not produced over 30 FD points in either of his two games with restricted play time so far. Spend your money elsewhere on the slate today.
Player Pool:
Point Guard:
Chris Paul - $8,200
Goran Dragic - $6,800
Eric Bledsoe - $5,900 (if he plays)
Other great plays: George Hill - $4,400 (if Bledsoe sits)
Shooting Guard:
James Harden - $11,400
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander - $7,100
Dennis Schroder - $6,000
Other great plays: Jimmy Butler - $9,000, Khris Middleton - $7,500. Luguentz Dort - $3,700
Small Forward:
Giannis Antetokounmpo - $11,500
Danilo Gallinari - $5,800
Jae Crowder - $4,700
Other great plays: Eric Gordon - $6,000, Danuel House - $5,000, Darius Bazley - $3,600
Power Forward:
Bam Adebayo - $8,000
Robert Covington - $6,300
Marvin Williams - $3,800
Other great plays: none
Center:
Brook Lopez - $5,700
Steven Adams - $5,500
P.J. Tucker - $4,800
Other great plays: none
Core/Lineup:
Since the slate has all the same players as Monday with similar pricing, most of the top plays are the same as they were then. My core 3 for today are Chris Paul, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Bam Adebayo.
